Rahul Gandhi News: The BJP welcomed the Gujarat High Court’s decision to dismiss Rahul Gandhi’s plea seeking a stay on his conviction in a criminal defamation case over his ‘Modi surname’ remark. Senior BJP leader said that humiliating leaders and organizations is Rahul Gandhi’s nature.

Addressing reporters at the BJP headquarters, former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that today’s decision is lawful, fair and autonomous. He said that the Congress leader’s behavior in this entire episode has been irresponsible arrogance.

He said that if Rahul Gandhi considers it his right to humiliate people, then there is law which will deal with him… The person who is insulted also has the right to approach the court for justice.

In a 2019 case filed by Gujarat BJP MLA Purnesh Modi, Surat’s Metropolitan Magistrate court on March 23 convicted Rahul Gandhi under sections 499 and 500 (criminal defamation) of the IPC and sentenced him to two years in prison.
