The energy saving plan will save 438 billion rupees annually, officials said

The Tunai Bachat Plan announced by the federal government from July 1 will save 8,000 megawatts of electricity and 438 billion rupees annually to the national treasury.

According to the documents, the government will get 15 billion tax from the duty on substandard fans, 23 billion revenue will be obtained from the import ban on the manufacture of substandard bulbs. 86 billion from e-bike, 23 billion will be saved by using LED lights instead of bulbs.

According to the authorities, 62 billion rupees will be saved by closing the markets 4 hours earlier, 56 billion will be saved by allowing 20% ​​of the staff to work from home, while 25% of gas will be saved by using conical baffles in the geyser. Pakistan will save 92 billion annually in this regard.

Decision to close commercial areas at 8 pm

It should be noted that the federal government had decided to close the shops and commercial areas across the country at 8 pm in the National Economic Council meeting on June 6 under the energy saving plan.

The National Economic Council meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in which the Chief Ministers of Sindh, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa participated while the Planning Minister of Balochistan also participated in the meeting.

Briefing the media after the meeting, Ahsan Iqbal said that after reviewing the situation in the representation of all provinces in the National Economic Council, it was approved to close all shops from July 1 at 8 pm. Come on, if we control them, many problems will be solved.

Ahsan Iqbal further said that energy has become a big challenge for Pakistan due to rising global prices, if we depend on fuel and oil, our economy will remain in danger. There are 2 types of measures to be taken to save energy.

He said that in order to save energy, shops and commercial centers should be closed at 8 pm, as well as the old bulbs should be replaced with LED lights.
